Who is Dave Lee Travis?

Introduction of Dave Lee Travis:

David Patrick Griffin was born in Buxton. Buxton is England’s highest market town.

David’s father was a stage manager.

The real name of Dave Lee Travis is David Patrick Griffin.

He was born on 25 May 1945.

The professional title is Dave Lee Travis.

Dave is an English disc jockey, radio presenter, and television presenter.

An English disc jockey plays recorded music on the radio or at a dance, party, or other events.

He published a book of his photographs of well-known women called A Bit of a Star, which he dedicated to his late father.

The career of Dave Lee Travis:

Dave’s first job was as a graphic designer. He designs shop interiors. 

At night on weekends, he began working as a DJ at the Oasis Club in Manchester.

Presenters host radio programs such as talkback shows, music, and news. 

In 1965 when he was young started his career. Taris began his broadcasting career on the pirate radio station, Radio Caroline.

Radio Caroline North was a pirate radio station operated from 1964-1968 out of Ramsey Bay in the Isle of Man.

On BBC Radio, he became one of the station’s leading presenters.

Dave was a regular presenter of Top of the Pops.

In 1993 he resigned from  BBC.

He worked for many British commercial radio station. On leaving Radio 1, Travis hosted a networked Sunday morning show (10 am – 1 pm) across some of the UK’s commercial radio stations.

In 2002, left Classic Gold to work for the British Army’s Garrison FM. From March 2003 to March 2007, Dave returned to the BBC and presented a Sunday morning show from 9 am to noon on BBC Three Counties Radio, his local BBC radio station.

Dave is a member of the Radio Academy Hall of Fame.

With his arrest on sexual assault allegations which he denied, the station suspended him and did not renew his contract. In February 2014, he was found not guilty. Dave returned to the radio in April 2018, presenting a Saturday show on United DJs Radio. In the 1970s, Travis was a regular drag racer.
